What is the live preview?
The live preview is the real-time view of your document inside the Document Builder. As you fill in fields on the left side of the screen, the preview on the right updates instantly, showing you exactly what your client will receive before you export anything.
What the preview shows
The full document laid out as a true A4 page, paginated exactly as it will print
Formatting and structure based on the Base Service, the document type and the visual template you picked, Origin or Ink, including its accent colour
An accurate representation of the final PDF, whether it is exported, emailed or sent for signature
Can I edit directly in the preview?
No, the preview is read-only. All edits happen in the fields on the left, and the preview follows as you type. Each column scrolls independently, so you can move through a long document on one side without losing your place on the other.
Is the preview the same as the exported PDF?
Yes. What you see is what you get, because the preview and the PDF are generated from the same source. The copy your client receives is the same file you looked at. Read How to export a document as PDF.
The preview is not loading
Make sure you finished the creation flow. A project, a client and a document type are required before the Document Builder loads.
Check that the Base Service behind the project has its content configured, in Base Setup.
