What should I do first? Your first 10 minutes on TCB

The fastest way to get TCB working for your real business — in 10 minutes or less.

Your first 10 minutes on TCB

If you've just signed up, here's the fastest way to get TCB working for your real business — not just set up.

1. Customize your Service Types (5 minutes)

This is the most important thing you can do first. Go to Settings → Service Types and update at least one Service Type with your real pricing, scope, and tasks.

Why first? Because everything TCB generates — documents, projects, task lists — pulls from your Service Types. The more accurate they are, the less editing you'll do later. The default benchmarking data is a starting point, not your final answer.

At minimum, update:

  • Pricing — set your actual rate

  • Scope — describe what's included in your service

  • Tasks — the steps you follow for a project of this type

2. Set up your profile (1 minute)

Go to My Account and add your photo and name. If you work under a studio or brand name, fill in the Organization field — this is what will appear on your documents instead of your personal name.

3. Add your first client (1 minute)

Go to Clients → New Client and add a real client you're working with. You don't need all their details — a name is enough to get started.

4. Create your first document (3 minutes)

Click New Document, select or create a project, link your client, pick a document type, and let TCB build the draft. Review it in the live preview, personalize any details, and export as a PDF.

That's it. You've just created a client-ready document in under 10 minutes — using your own data.
