A dashboard that knows where you are
A generic dashboard treats someone who has never closed a job and someone running three projects exactly the same way, and those two people need opposite things. The Launchpad is the screen you land on after login, and what it says depends on where your business actually is.
The goal it is built around is money in your account. A signed document is a milestone on the way there, not the destination.
Two tracks
First deal, when you have no closed work yet. The screen is an on ramp: build your Base, put a real opportunity in, get to the first payment. If you have no leads at all, it is anchored on the 30 day plan.
Next payment, once you have a project. The screen talks about the money in play: what is invoiced, what is outstanding, what the next milestone is.
You never pick a track. It follows your real data, and it moves with you.
Your Road
The ruler across the top of the Launchpad shows the four steps to your first payment: your Base is built, a real opportunity is in, a document is out, and the money lands. It is there to show progress, not to nag, and it lives only on the Launchpad.
Suggested next steps and momentum banners
Below the hero, TCB suggests the next concrete move: finish and send a draft, follow up on a proposal, send an invoice. These banners are specific to the document or project they talk about, and each one can be dismissed with the X. A new document brings its banner back, because it is a new decision.
Critical insights from Base Intelligence do not carry an X. They snooze until the next morning instead, since they usually point at something with a date attached.
When Pipeline becomes Outstanding
A signature does not move money. What activates a project, and moves its value from Pipeline to Outstanding, is the first payment landing. That is also the moment the Launchpad steps aside: once you have been paid, the activation footnote disappears and your dashboard becomes the standard console for good.
Prefer the standard dashboard?
You can turn the Launchpad off. In the note at the bottom of the screen there is a button that switches you to the standard console, and another one that brings the Launchpad back. Your choice is saved to your account.
One thing does override it: your real state. Once you have a project running, TCB will not send you back to an on ramp you no longer need.
