Nobody arrives on day one of a project
Most people find a new tool in the middle of things: work already agreed, part of it already paid, a deadline already running. A form that only knows how to create a project from scratch forces you to pretend you are starting over, and the very first screen ends up lying.
Bring in your projects is the guided flow for that. It records the work as it actually stands today.
Work first, client second
The flow asks about the work before it asks about the client, because that is the order you think in. You pick the service, describe what was agreed, then say who it is for.
What it captures
What you agreed, the value and the currency you actually charged
What you have already received, which is recorded as real payments in Finances, not as a note. Your project arrives with history.
Where the work stands, so the delivery milestones that are done are marked done and the ones that are pending are what is left
Tasks, which come from your Base so the project is workable from the first minute
The price you agreed is the price that stays
The value you enter here was negotiated with a client, so TCB locks it. Editing the project later, even changing its title, will never recalculate it from your Base price.
Activating it
A project you brought in was already running, so the editor offers an Activate project button, and it asks for the start date. That date is a fact from the past that nobody can derive for you, and it is what makes your history accurate.
This is different from a project born in Pipeline. There, activation happens from the Actions menu, or on its own when you register a payment, and no start date is asked, because the activation is the date.

The quick form and this flow both exist on purpose. The form is for a new opportunity. This one is for work with a past.
Is this an import from another tool?
No. There is no file upload, parser or integration. It is guided entry, one project at a time.
